Living Lenexa History

LHS was honored to help in the production of a series of videos about the history of Lenexa by providing research assistance and artifacts for recording. With permission of the City of Lenexa, we are sharing just a few of the videos below. You can also see these videos on the City of Lenexa’s YouTube channel and around the Lenexa City Center. The videos feature local history advocate Bill Nicks as Octave Chanute, who platted Lenexa.

We encourage you to also visit the City of Lenexa’s history section of their website. The city shares our passion for Lenexa history and regularly posts historical articles on their site. The City of Lenexa runs the Legler Barn Museum & Depot, as well as the city’s historical archives located at the museum.
