Julie Stewart

Julie lived in Johnson County for 35+ years, before moving to Lenexa 25 years ago. Her father taught American History at Shawnee Mission East for 20+ years, and instilled a love of history of the Midwest. Julie and her husband David, have traveled to many historical sites in Kansas and Missouri.

Julie graduated from UMKC with a BA and Masters in Elementary Education. She taught a total of 29 years- 23 of those at Red Bridge Elementary in the Center School District in Kansas City, MO. Both of Julie’s daughters and their families live in the area.

Julie recently joined LHS, and has been volunteering at the Legler Barn Museum, helping to digitize archives. She recently began Lenexa history presentations to 3rd graders at the Legler Barn.
