Phil is a past LHS president and current board member. He served 25 years in banking and was president of Country Hill Bank for 10 years. Currently, he is a Commercial Realtor with The Land Source and is similar to a CFO for The Dharod Group of Companies.

He and his wife, Jody, have lived in Lenexa for over 51 years, have 3 children and 9 grandchildren (all in the area). Since 2015, they have traveled the Santa Fe Trail, Oregon Trail, California Trail, Mormon Trail and Louis and Clark Trail.

During his years with LHS, Phil, with the help of Country Hill Bank and area businesses, researched, designed and built the old Lenexa Bandstand that was reconstructed just south of Legler Barn.

While LHS president, the Legler Barn was reconstructed. He helped raise money and through Country Hill Bank, lent LHS $100,000 to finance the construction.

He gives presentations to clubs, organizations and KU Osher classes on historical trails, as well as presentations to Lenexa grade schools with the City’s Prairie Schooner Wagon. He has also gathered information and researched the Shawnee Tribe in Johnson County.

Phil is a member of Kansas City Area Historic Trails Association, Lenexa and Shawnee Chambers, Lenexa Rotary, and works with the Shawnee Indian Mission with research and
projects.
