Megan Adams
Old Town Advocate
Megan has been a resident of Old Town Lenexa for the last 20 years, where she and her husband have been lovingly restoring their 1887 Farmhouse. Old Town Lenexa has been a great place to raise their 2 children, now a teenager and young adult. Megan established a Neighborhood Watch in 2007 and also participated in A New Look at Old Town in 2016. Megan and her family enjoy going to The Community Days Parade, Chili Fest and Spinach Festival each year.
Megan has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with an emphasis in Historic Preservation from Kansas State University through the school of Human Ecology, which focuses on behavior and the designed environment. Megan served as a consultant for a historic hotel in Pleasanton, KS in the early 2000’s. Megan has her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University and currently works as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor within the community.
Megan gained her love of history from her family, whose mother is a retired teacher and member of DAR; father is a history buff with a passion for historic preservation along with her great aunt and uncle who restored 2 Antebellum homes in Weston, MO. Megan spent her summers growing up traveling the U.S (and one summer in Europe) with her family, taking in historic sites and history. Megan and her husband travel each year to local Historic B&B’s in area small towns and love to visit historical sites while there.
