Join us for our first meeting of 2020! Members and non-members are welcome.

The evening will begin with Chris Cakes flipping up pancakes so come prepared to catch your flapjack. We will then proceed to the auditorium for a discussion on this year’s objectives and a presentation by John Forbes.

John Forbes will present “The Movement of Shawnee Indians from the Ohio Valley to Kansas: 1780’s – 1830’s”.

For 34 years, Mr. Forbes taught U.S. History at Shawnee Mission South High School. He is the State Historian for the Sons of the American Revolution, is involved with the Shawnee Indian Mission, has been a Lewis and Clark reenactor, and is a lifelong resident of the KC area. His extensive knowledge of the Shawnee will be both educational and entertaining. There will be a Q & A session following his presentation.
