A big thank you from all of us at the Lenexa Historical Society to all of you who were able to attend our first meeting of the year, along with the Quantrill’s Raiders video and presentation with Bob Courtney. Everyone loved the video and we were all impressed by it’s production quality and the stories behind its creation. If you missed out, you can find some of the video series volumes at the Olathe Historical Society website.
For those of you who couldn’t attend, our current president, Bruce Daniel, gave a quick recap on our activities last year, such as the Spinach Festival, and some hopes and goals for the coming year. As Bruce mentioned, we are hoping to continue our outreach efforts to more of the Lenexa community, collaborating with more local organizations and businesses, and grow our active member base, among other goals that need to be organized more before we can proceed with them. We will continue to aim for more consistent updates and communication efforts as well.
If you would like to help us achieve our goals, you can do so by making a donation to LHS or by volunteering your time at the museum or at events, please let us know by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your interests, availability, etc. and we’ll see if we can find a good match for you.
Also, a big thanks to anyone who brought the little ones in to see all the other wonderful local organizations set up at Bass Pro for the Passport to Adventure Kickoff! If you didn’t make it, you can get your Passport book at the Legler Barn and start your adventure. Don’t know how it works or what it is? Check out their website: Kansas City’s Passport to Adventure
