The Lenexa Historical Society had some fun at our March 12, 2013 General Meeting - check out our version of the "Lenexa" Harlem Shake. Afterwards we all dined on LHS' famous home made bean and steak soups and Rod Booth gave us a wonderful presentation on the Legendary Santa Fe Trail.
Visit Lenexa's History Museum, The Legler Barn. Located in the City's picturesque Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park on the southeast corner of Lackman Rd. and 87th Street Parkway. The Legler Barn Museum is managed by the City of Lenexa's Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Lenexa Historical Society and our vast collection of local historical artifacts. Also onsite is the Frisco Train Depot, Strang Line Waiting Station, the Legler Barn Herb Garden and Picture Spot, a local history research library and resource room, and a restored Prairie Schooner "Conestoga Wagon".
