| Lenexa's 10th Waterfest and Ice Cream Festival |
Waterfest is a day for Lenexa residents to join together to celebrate water. A free event, Waterfest offers numerous interactive, educational booths that provide water quality, stormwater and other environmental information, as well as entertainment and many water-related activities that appeal to all ages.
Offers Water-related Fun, Education for Families and will take place from 11am-3pm, Saturday, July 31st, at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park, located at 87th Street Parkway and Lackman Road.
Bring the family and enjoy a variety of water-related fun and educational activities including a performance by the local band, Abbey Road, a live bird exhibit by Operation Wildlife, paddle boating, cane pole fishing, water slide, moon walk, face painting, water spray by the Lenexa Fire Department (kids, be sure to wear your swimsuit), prizes, educational booths, and much more.
Free hotdogs are available for the first 1500 people, thanks to a donation from Hy-Vee. Admission to the event is free.
In conjunction with Waterfest, the Lenexa Historical Society will host its annual ice cream social from 11-3 p.m. in the park near Legler Barn Museum and the caboose.
